Dr. Dusty Spencer

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons

Dr. Dusty Spencer is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. She has been practicing veterinary medicine for almost twenty years. Her love of sharing knowledge began as she taught Gross Anatomy to first-year veterinary medical students. After teaching for three years, Dr. Spencer took on two year-long Surgical Internships and a three-year Surgical Residency for advanced surgical training. Her surgical interests include orthopedics, cranial cruciate ligament rupture repair, and massive polytrauma. As Dr. Spencer spends much time on-call, and Frenchies are such a common breed, she inevitably sees many French Bulldogs. Unfortunately, many of these patients come in through the Emergency Service in severe respiratory distress. Dr. Spencer also performs many fracture fixations on Frenchie elbows, as they are predisposed to these fractures (see the book for more detailed information).

After years of treating French Bulldogs suffering with their multitude of medical and surgical issues, Dr. Spencer wants to share the topic of French Bulldog health with the world in hopes of promoting healthy breed standards for this popular breed. She shares her life in the Pacific Northwest with her phenomenal husband and the most amazing daughter, as well as a menagerie of hound dogs and other four-legged friends.
